Brenda's final semester of an electrical engineering diploma in Birmingham
Brenda has worked and saved for five years to study an electrical engineering diploma; a $1,100 gap now stands between her and graduation.
🇬🇧 Birmingham, England, United Kingdom929 views
Brenda is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Birmingham State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,100.
The registrar has said Brenda can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Brenda has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Brenda would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Brenda isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $240
• Outstanding tuition balance: $730
• Exam and lab fees: $130
Every share and every dollar helps.
