Barasa needs clippers, chairs and mirrors to reopen a barbershop

Barasa has run a barbershop for fifteen years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $350 will put it back on its feet.

Gulu
For fifteen years I have run a barbershop in Gulu. In May, floodwater took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $350 goes: • Initial stock: supplies: $85 • Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $185 • Working capital for the first month: $80 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Barasa.

The list at the bottom is the whole picture. initial stock: supplies is the biggest at $85. It helps to be asked.

Praying for you, Barasa. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Nottingham

Hope things get better soon. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from San Francisco.
