Back to business - Salvador's comeback in Bakersfield

Salvador has run a small grocery stall for twelve years; a fire in the building destroyed the equipment, and $4,250 will put it back on its feet.

Bakersfield
For twelve years I have run a small grocery stall in Bakersfield. In March, a fire in the building took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $4,250 goes: • Replacing a cold-storage unit: $3,000 • Initial stock: fresh produce: $380 • Shop repairs and licensing: $580 • Working capital for the first month: $290 I hope life is good to you.
