Back to business - Manoel's comeback in São Paulo
Manoel has run a small grocery stall for three years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $800 will put it back on its feet.

For three years I have run a small grocery stall in São Paulo. In May, a long illness and repossession took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $800 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $510
• Working capital for the first month: $150
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $140
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Manoel
Good news. Because of your gifts ($87 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
We're at 5% thanks to 2 of you. the plan for replacing a cold-storage unit is now scheduled. More news soon.

Good luck, Manoel. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of São Paulo.
