Back on our feet: Lanre and three children under 12 in Kaduna
A single mother in Kaduna needs help with childcare, groceries and rent while Lanre retrains.

Last December I went through my partner leaving, and I'm now raising three children under 12 on my own. I work as a school kitchen assistant, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a teaching assistant in the evenings, which will triple my income by April, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts.
Where the $550 goes:
• Childcare and after-school care: $160
• Course fees and exam costs: $85
• Rent top-up: $305
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Thane.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lanre!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. childcare and after-school care comes first ($160) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.
Best of luck. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless
take care. Looking forward to the next update. My husband and I read this together. God bless!
Sending love, Lanre. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Kaduna.
