Arief was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Depok Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Arief is 54, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Depok Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,800 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $360 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Transport to the Depok Oncology Institute: $145 • Scans and lab work: $245 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
