A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Anita needs $500 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Lalitpur.

After a sudden layoff at the hotel, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $500 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $20
• First month of rent as a buffer: $95
• Rent arrears (2 months): $385

Quick update: $115 raised so far (23%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($35 in total) I made the first payment toward rent arrears. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Small update. $25 so far, the plan for first month of rent as a buffer is now scheduled.
