Mohammedia
For twelve years I have run a street-food cart in Mohammedia. In December, a storm that collapsed the roof took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $800 goes: • Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $530 • Working capital for the first month: $140 • Initial stock: ingredients: $130 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Amira

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 42% funded and the plan for replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($282 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Hang in there, Amira. Hope the shop reopens soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
