Alyssa is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Alyssa was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in December. The oncology team at the Newcastle Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Alyssa is 24, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Newcastle Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,700 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,000
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750
• Transport to the Newcastle Oncology Institute: $950
