ACL reconstruction for Naana: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in August is out of reach without help covering $700 of the cost.

Naana was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in April. The surgeon at Accra General Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $700 short.
my mother has been in and out of Accra General Hospital since April. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Naana struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Naana won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $700 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Travel and lodging for the family: $35
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $490
• Post-operative medication: $55
• Physiotherapy sessions: $75
