A community-led a youth football pitch at the old Freedom bus depot that will serve 120 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 120 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Materials: $810
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $125
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
Thank you so much.

Hope things get better soon, Mónica. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'll check back for the next update.
Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of San Nicolás de los Garza
