For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,150. It will serve about 579 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,150 goes: • Materials: $890 • Permits and inspections: $70 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $125 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
