A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Albuquerque
Volunteers in Albuquerque are raising $850 for a youth football pitch at the Pioneer community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 250 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Safety equipment and signage: $470
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
