A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Hyderabad
Volunteers in Hyderabad are raising $350 for a solar-powered water pump at Cedar Primary School.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 524 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $195
• Permits and inspections: $10
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Tools hire and delivery: $90
