A skate park for the old Liberty bus depot: help our neighbors in Accra
Volunteers in Accra are raising $250 for a skate park at the old Liberty bus depot.
🇬🇭 Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana1,453 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $115, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 303 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $145
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
I hope life is good to you.

More neighborhoods should do this. Greetings from İzmir.
Take care. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!

Keep going, Kwabena. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Bonny
Wishing you peace, Kwabena. This could happen to any of us. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
Hang in there, Kwabena. Hope you get there
Sending good thoughts, Kwabena. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
