A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in San Francisco
A community-led a skate park at Acacia Park that will serve 373 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $950.
It will serve about 373 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $950 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
• Safety equipment and signage: $270
• Permits and inspections: $260
Thanks for reading all this.
