I served eight years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $2,350.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Transport to appointments: $230
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,550
• Essential household items: $570
Thanks for reading all this.

Sending good thoughts, Sophie. Shared it with a few friends. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.
Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Karlsruhe
