A service dog for Miles, a medical corps veteran in Sacramento
Miles served eight years in the medical corps; $2,500 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served eight years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2025 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $2,500.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Transport to appointments: $330
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,400
• Essential household items: $770
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
