I served ten years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $800. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly. Where the $800 goes: • Training provider fees: $380 • Housing deposit and first month: $290 • Transport to appointments: $70 • Essential household items: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Kavita

Updates from Kavita

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 36% funded and I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Small update. $276 so far, I made the first payment toward housing deposit and first month.

Stay strong, Kavita. Shared it with a few friends. I hope August is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
