I served six years in the infantry and was discharged in 2024 with a traumatic brain injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $850.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $850 goes:
• Training provider fees: $370
• Housing deposit and first month: $310
• Transport to appointments: $70
• Essential household items: $100
Thank you so much.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Harini
It's all in the list in the story. training provider fees is the big one at $370, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Happy to explain more.
So sorry you're going through this, Harini. Hope this works out for you
