A service dog for Grayson, an army veteran in Orlando
An army veteran in Orlando needs help with a vocational welding course and tools after leaving service with a back injury.
🇺🇸 United States5,121 views
I served four years in the army and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $4,550.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,550 goes:
• Training provider fees: $1,750
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,050
• Transport to appointments: $330
• Essential household items: $420
Thank you for reading my story.

Keep going. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Orlando.
Thanks for sharing this, Grayson. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out
so sorry you're going through this, Grayson. Looking forward to the next update.
This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. All the best!
Stay strong. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Love from Barcelona
stay strong, Grayson. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings
