A service dog for Alok, an infantry veteran in Hamilton
Alok served four years in the infantry; $4,200 would cover a first month of rent and transport to job interviews.
🇨🇦 Hamilton, Ontario, Canada1,032 views
Garima served four years in the infantry and was discharged in 2023 with hearing damage and PTSD. She has been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote comes to $4,200.
Garima is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,550
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,300
• Essential household items: $350
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

you're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Hamilton.
hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
Praying for you, Alok. Hope you get there.
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Chiang Mai.
