A service dog for Aaliyah, an engineering corps veteran in Springfield
Aaliyah served eight years in the engineering corps; $6,050 would cover a vocational welding course and tools.

I served eight years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2025 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $6,050.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $6,050 goes:
• Training provider fees: $3,850
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,500
• Transport to appointments: $410
• Essential household items: $290
Thank you for reading my story.

Thanks for sharing this, Aaliyah. Shared it with a few friends. Don't give up. God bless.
best of luck, Aaliyah. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 12 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless
