A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the Baobab vacant lot that will serve 328 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,800.
It will serve about 328 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Materials: $1,800
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $410
