Lagos
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 512 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $550 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 Thank you for reading my story. - Nneka
