For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $4,000. It will serve about 375 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $4,000 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $420 • Materials: $3,300 • Permits and inspections: $280 Every share and every dollar helps. - Anne
