A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Port Harcourt
Volunteers in Port Harcourt are raising $405 for a repair café workshop at the old Sycamore bus depot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $405.
It will serve about 178 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $405 goes:
• Materials: $340
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $5

this could happen to any of us. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Port Harcourt

Wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer!
Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Jakarta Selatan donated after I showed her your page.
Sending love, Lucky. Shared this with my family. After 12 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Port Harcourt
hope you get there. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Port Harcourt
