A rainwater harvesting system for the Acacia community hall: help our neighbors in Ottawa
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $2,250 for materials.
🇨🇦 Ontario, Canada1,300 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 295 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $420
• Permits and inspections: $370
• Materials: $1,460
Thanks for being kind about this.
