Vadodara
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $85, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 303 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $200 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $90 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
