A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Phuket
Volunteers in Phuket are raising $850 for a rainwater harvesting system at Freedom Primary School.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 352 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Tools hire and delivery: $70

Thank you all. We're at 27% now ($232). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
Quick update: $116 raised so far (14%). I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
