Aurangabad

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 102 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $370 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Gayathri

Updates from Gayathri

Update from Aurangabad: the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. We're at 28% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($115 in total) I made the first payment toward materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
