A playground for the Union vacant lot: help our neighbors in Nairobi

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $750. It will serve about 557 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
