I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Depok Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $900.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $900 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $10
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• pair of hearing aids: $850
