San Jose
My family left Sudan 6 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in San Jose. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in January. I was a farmer in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,250 goes: • Language classes and bus passes: $710 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $310 • Rent deposit and first month: $1,850 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $380 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Hang in there, Vivian. Your post was clear and honest. After 16 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything!
