A fresh start in Riverside: help the Abdi family resettle
After fleeing Ukraine, the Abdi family has arrived in Riverside with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Ukraine 14 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Riverside. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a pharmacist in Ukraine, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,000
• Language classes and bus passes: $460
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,940
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

sending strength, Daniel. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
