Nizamabad

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 406 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Materials: $470 • Permits and inspections: $25 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Jay
