A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Üsküdar
A community-led a covered market stall space at the old Acacia bus depot that will serve 106 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 106 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $210
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
