A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Rotterdam
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Lotus community hall that will serve 213 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $580, and the remaining cost is $2,700.
It will serve about 213 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Materials: $1,750

• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $260
