For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 205 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Materials: $370
