A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Nottingham
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Lotus health centre yard that will serve 211 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,700.
It will serve about 211 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Permits and inspections: $105
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Tools hire and delivery: $295
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
