A community fridge for Lotus Park: help our neighbors in Santos
Volunteers in Santos are raising $750 for a community fridge at Lotus Park.
🇧🇷 Santos, São Paulo, Brazil1,007 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $750.
It will serve about 213 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $750 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
• Materials: $450
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

You're not alone, Sérgio. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best.
Hope it all works out. Hope this works out for you. Please keep us posted. Take care
Thinking of you and your family, Sérgio. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Heraklion.
sending love. More neighborhoods should do this. Put this on a community board in Heliopolis this morning. God bless
